April 21, 2011

It's almost Easter!

2011.. You are speeding. Slow down! April is almost gone already, and the weather still wont warm up past low 60s. Easter is this Sunday, and I'm thrilled.. I have a feeling Kailyn will be spoiled by the Easter Bunny! I have to take her to the mall to get pictures done with the Bunny before he leaves on the 23rd. She LOVED him last year, pulled on his ears and ripped his bow off.. It was funny!

We are remodeling our kitchen. We got a new dishwasher, new countertops and we painted the cabinets a nice off-white color. The previous owners painted them.. wait for it.. BROWN. We also have YELLOW linoleum tiles and the old dishwasher was one of those roll-out ones. I am so thrilled. The floors are coming out next, I want to have it done by next week. We are going to replace them with nice whiteish grayish (does that make sense?) tiles.

Kailyn is growing too quickly. Her intelligence baffles me. Here's a few witty things she has come up with in the past few days.

We are working hard on potty training.. We are getting there slowly but surely. Unfortunately, rewarding her with candy does not work because she is allowed to have candy once in a while anyway and so candy isn't anything spectacular. So, we have resorted to rewarding her with.. cash. It works! Any parent out there that has a baby Donald Trump on their hands like we do, and are trying to potty train to no avail - money is the answer! Anyway, yesterday, I had to pee and Kailyn followed me into the bathroom where she proceeded to dance and clap and sing songs to congratulate me for using the potty. She went to her bedroom, opened her piggy bank, took out a quarter and two pennies and told me "Mom, good job, you peed on the potty and not in your big girl panties!" LOL! You can imagine my face.. She is so funny!

Santa brought Jason a Play Station 3 for Christmas and when you turn it on, the background on the TV is a picture of Kailyn. My mom was over the other day and pointed at the screen and asked Kailyn "Hey, who is that kid?!!" Kailyn then shouted "Well, that kid is ME! Kailyn Paige PRICE!" She knows her last name now and tells everyone her full name when introducing herself. She also tells everyone that she is "two years old, and very big!"

Here's an OMG moment I experienced the other day.. Kailyn and I were at the park where we encountered a chubby little toddler, to whom she sais "You are much too big for the slide." Oh. My. God. I almost died. I apologized to the mother up and down and also made Kailyn say she was sorry and explained her that everyone can play on the slide. I tried to explain her that people come in all shapes, sizes and colors, but I'm not sure she completely got the point.

Anyway, that's all I have for today. Kailyn will be 27 months on the 11th of May which is only like a week and a half / two weeks away.. Jeeze!

Adios and Happy Easter!
